DND Services Ltd :: Project: Subaru Impreza 1998 - Peter M.

Project: Subaru Impreza 1998 - Peter M.

"Can you do a Boot Build for me?" Asked Peter,
"I have 2 Sony Amps, but need some Sub`s and a box."

It soon transpired that Peter had quite a few other bits and pieces from a previous install, but was unsure as to how to make the best of them and show them off. After a number of questions, a few sketches, and much scratching of heads, Peter then gave us the biggest compliment we could possibly ask for:

"I`m not quite sure what I want, So I`ll leave it up to you, because I know you`ll do a good job!"

Thanks for the confidence, Peter. The Cheshire grin on your face when you saw it, said it all !!

The Layout

Stage one of any build is the layout, on a sheet of M.D.F. One Amp ran Kenwood Components (front) & Lanzar Mids (rear) The other amp was bridged to run two Infinity Perfect 12`s. The Power Cap and Delco Freedom Battery are also shown. The rest of the space would be taken up with a Sub-Box.

Peter also admitted that he wouldn`t be seen dead with the Space-Saver Tyre, so we "lost" the small spare wheel well !!

Squeeze !

Squeeze? You are not Kidding! Keen eyed Viewers will soon realise that the box is much bigger than the opening of the boot in all directions ! We removed the back seats in order to assemble the box in its location. Not easy - but well worth the effort.

The Ultimate theft protective Sub-Box -
"It ain`t comin out!"

Cover

Getting this bit right is quite tricky.

The windows for the Amps must be in exactly the right place, or the effect just will not work. The cover for the Battery is removeable for access. It is also important to make sure that the Battery, is securely fastened, for obvious safety reasons.

Trimmed

Once the Carpet has been Trimmed into place, and all of the gaps filled out with M.D.F. spacers, The overall effect can be seen. You may notice that the smaller distribution block, has dissapeared, it was too small, and looked lost. And Yes!, This does sound as good as it looks!

Subaru

Peter also wanted to have the boot lid boarded and for Subaru to be carved into it.

What you cannot see from the picture, is the strobe lighting behind the letters.

Peter M.

Peter was under the mistaken impression that he could wangle his way out of the obligatory photo!

Not a chance !

His friend was also on hand to help encourage this "Cheesy pose".
